Mr. Hagop Jake Boghossian has been practicing employment and workplace relations law for over 22 years and defending employees in relation to their employment and workplace rights.

Jake Boghossian has acted in the landmark decision regarding the interpretation of the General Carriers Contract Determination (RJ Enterprises v Booth Transport) at the Industrial Court of NSW.

In October 2021, Jake and his fellow colleague Richard Aslanian were the principal lawyers in a significant racial and unlawful discrimination decision before Judge Driver of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia for Joseph Ferguson before his former employer, Sharkies Plumbing where they obtained for Mr. Ferguson a substantial damages payout and an apology.

In August 2017, Jake and his fellow colleague Richard Aslanian were also the principal lawyers in a very important decision before Justice Bromwich, at the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in relation to wages underpayments, sham contracting, and workplace penalties (Putland v Royans Wagga).

Jake Boghossian has completed his Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Law at Macquarie University in 1993 and in 2015 also completed his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM).

Jake is one of Australia’s very few solicitors who have completed his MBA, which has allowed him to better understand the business and financial dynamic of companies and how they breach and impinge on employee discrimination and workplace rights.

Whilst at MGSM Jake was also awarded a merit certificate in Strategic Frameworks and was the founding secretary of the MGSM Connections Student Body.

Jake also undertakes a significant amount of volunteer work in youth services, school boards, and local sporting organizations.

Jake in his personal time thoroughly enjoys listening to an array of music, admiring art, and believes it is through art and music that one appreciates the finer qualities in life.
