Ani Ambartsoumian joined Connect Legal in October 2020 as a Paralegal. In 2011, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History and a major in Philosophy from the University of Sydney, and she commenced her Juris Doctor law degree in 2012, also at the University of Sydney. While at Sydney Law School, Ani volunteered for a mentorship program, where she served as a mentor for incarcerated girls at Juniperina Juvenile Centre, and this sparked a continued interest in justice and a desire to help people in need.

Ani has worked as a paralegal since 2016, and prior to joining Connect Legal, she gained experience in multiple areas of personal injury law, including Medical Negligence, Workers' Compensation, Work Injury Damages, TPD claims, Public Liability, and Motor Vehicle Claims.

However, Ani’s legal paralegal experience and background are predominately in institutional child sex abuse and child protection law, and she has worked extensively to help achieve justice for survivors of child sex abuse, holding well-known institutions to account for both historic and current abuse towards children in their care. She has a particular interest and passion for helping the intuitionally vulnerable, children, and battlers who have suffered human rights violations. She also has a keen knowledge and understanding of trauma and its effect on people from all walks of life.

Ani is extremely proud of being part of the team at Connect Legal, which allows her to use her previous experience to help clients defend their work and human rights, and she sees many parallels between her work in institutional child sex abuse and the way in which clients are impacted by workplace harassment and discrimination.

Ani has recently enrolled in Macquarie University, where she is completing the remainder of her Juris Doctor degree, and hopes very soon to become a practicing solicitor.
