Evelyn Rivera completed her Bachelor of Medical Science (Major in Biochemistry) (Second Class Honors) in 2011. She worked in Research and Pathology (Histology) for a few years before she was inspired to study law.

Although Evelyn was enthusiastic about science, she yearned for the opportunity to help people directly and found that gratification in law and justice. She has been working with Connect Legal since May 2020 and is finishing her Juris Doctor degree in 2021 with hopes to become a Solicitor.

Evelyn migrated to Australia from Peru with her immediate family at the age of 4 and holds vivid memories of residing at a Government-subsidized Migrant Facility because she had no other family in Australia. As a result, Evelyn has always been passionate about helping other migrants or minority groups and is an avid supporter of women’s rights.

In her spare time, she loves to participate in various not-for-profit organizations such as Food Bank Australia, Aged Care Health Centre (Spanish-speaking group), and the City2Surf, where she has achieved the top 4% out of all female participants every year since 2017.

Evelyn feels fortunate to work with a team of incredible individuals who are focused on putting the client’s needs and their satisfaction as the utmost priority every day.
